With the help of 20 volunteers, they perused the aisles of the store, hunting down toys to donate toward the 'Toys for Tots' program. They've done this for years, but they felt that in a year like 2020, everyone needs an extra bit of help.
The company has been doing this for 12 years now in other communities they serve, but this is the first time they've donated to Duluth's Salvation Army. Some of the toys also went to Virginia's Toys for Tots program.
Fleet Farm also gave them a discount on the items purchased.
Through the Duluth Salvation Army, 922 households have registered for Christmas Assistance so far.
“Mid-state truck service has been doing this for the last seven to ten years now throughout central Wisconsin and now in Minnesota,” said Mike Cooper, Operations Manager for Mid-State Truck Service. “We're a family owned and operated company of over 50 years and we feel the need to give back to families in our communities."
