Central Dispatch ID Verification to Clean the Industry - AAAT

3/6/2026

Fraud and fake accounts have long been a problem in the auto transport industry, especially on digital load boards where anonymity can be exploited. To address this issue, Central Dispatch is introducing identity verification for all users beginning in January.

By linking every account to a real, verified individual, the platform aims to reduce fraud, improve accountability, and create a safer, more trustworthy marketplace for brokers, carriers, and shippers.

Central Dispatch ID Verification to Clean Up the Industry

Fraud, double brokering, and fake carrier accounts have been growing problems in the auto transport industry for years. Load boards have become a target for bad actors who create fake accounts, steal loads, impersonate companies, and disappear before anyone realizes what happened. To combat this, Central Dispatch is introducing a major change designed to improve accountability and security across the platform: identity verification.

Beginning in January, all users will be required to verify their identity in order to continue accessing the marketplace. This makes Central Dispatch the first automotive logistics marketplace to implement full ID verification for its users. The goal is simple. Every account must be tied to a real, verifiable individual.

Why Identity Verification Matters

For years, one of the biggest weaknesses in freight platforms has been the ability for individuals to hide behind anonymous accounts. Fraudsters could create new profiles, impersonate legitimate companies, and move loads under false identities.

Identity verification closes that loophole. By linking each account to a real person using government-issued identification and facial verification, it becomes significantly harder for scammers to operate. If someone attempts to create fake accounts or engage in fraudulent activity, there is now a verified identity tied to that account.

This layer of accountability helps protect brokers, carriers, and shippers who rely on the platform every day.

How the Verification Process Works

To complete the verification process, users follow several straightforward steps:
1. Go to the Central Dispatch log in page, and click “Start Verification” to begin the process.

7. Return to the device where the process started to validate or edit your information.

8. That’s it! You’ll receive a success or failure message after completing.

9. If you receive a failure message, try one of these best practices to ensure best results:
  • Don’t use the back button
  • Complete the process at one time and limit delays in steps of the process
  • Review information before proceeding to the next step

A Direct Hit on Fraud and Bad Actors

The biggest impact of this change is on the individuals who have been abusing the system. Double brokers, scammers, and fraudulent carriers rely on anonymity. They create multiple accounts, move loads under fake names, and vanish once problems arise.

Identity verification makes that far more difficult.

Once every account is tied to a real individual, suspicious activity becomes easier to track and enforce against. Accounts involved in fraud can be flagged and removed from the platform. More importantly, those individuals will find it much harder to return under a different identity.

Over time, this will push many bad actors out of the marketplace entirely.

What This Means for the Industry

For legitimate brokers and carriers, this change is largely positive. It increases trust within the marketplace and reduces the chances of working with fraudulent accounts. Drivers hauling loads can have greater confidence that the broker posting the load is legitimate, and brokers can feel safer assigning vehicles to verified carriers.

The long-term result should be a cleaner, more reliable environment where professional operators can do business without constantly worrying about scams.

The Bottom Line

Identity verification represents an important shift for the auto transport industry. By requiring every Central Dispatch account to be connected to a real person, the platform is adding a powerful layer of accountability and protection.

For honest brokers and carriers, this means a safer marketplace and fewer fraudulent operators to deal with. For bad actors who have relied on anonymity to exploit the system, the message is clear: the door is closing.

As verification rolls out, the industry will likely see fewer fake accounts, fewer scams, and a stronger foundation of trust across the platform.
